Your journey to making a meaningful impact begins here with UMFC as our newest VFPRR Intensive Practitioner.

The role

As our next VFPRR Intensive Practitioner, you will work closely with Child Protection to support children and families under Family Preservation or Family Reunification Orders. Using a strengths-based approach and the Best Interests Case Practice Model, you'll deliver intensive, therapeutic, and trauma-informed support that prioritises child safety and strengthens family dynamics.

You'll collaborate with families to create, implement, and review tailored Child and Family Action Plans, ensuring their voices and choices are central to the process. Additionally, you will maintain the IRIS database, providing accurate and timely updates on services and case notes to facilitate efficient case closures and manage new allocations in line with Child and Family Services guidelines. You will also co-facilitate group work programs to foster peer support and shared learning among clients.

Your Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in Therapeutic work with complex and vulnerable families.
  • Familiarity with Child Protection services and experience in Care Team Meetings.
  • Proven understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and the Best Interests Case Practice Model.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Team-oriented, innovative, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent.
